Current Year, plus 3 prior years with access to backfile (1990 -      ); updated monthly.  Article citations, abstracts and some full-text articles from over 1,400 college-level, scholarly journals and general interest magazines on all subjects.  Also indexes articles from the New York Times (1900 -     ).  Also accessible through CARL Gateway #57.

 PAIS International

(1934-43;1962 to present) This is an index to books, periodical articles, & publications of international organizations, government documents and other library material in the fields of economics and public policy and international relations, with an emphasis on factual and statistical information. (Citations also included in the Expanded Academic Index) (CARL Gateway #57)

READERS GUIDE TO PERIODICAL LITERATURE

(1890 to present) This is an index to general interest periodicals that are published in the United States. Good source for current events. The General Reference Center (CARL Gateway #57) is a comparable online index. Magazine index also includes citations to articles from the New York Times.

INTERNATIONAL INDEX TO PERIODICALS

(1907 to 1965) This is an index to periodicals in Social Sciences and Humanities. It splits into the Humanities Index and the Social Sciences Index.

SOCIAL SCIENCES INDEX

(1965 to 1997) This is an index to periodicals in anthropology, area studies, economics, environment, science, psychology, public administration and sociology. This index is to be found in paper format and also as a part of the Expanded Academic ASAP (since 1988).

NEW YORK TIMES INDEX

(1851-74; 1899-1905; 1917-present) This index covers articles in the New York Times newspaper and supplementary publications. New York Times articles are also cited in the Expanded Academic Index.

MONTHLY CATALOG OF GOVERNMENT PUBLICATIONS

(Gov Doc GP3.8; 1909-present) This is a listing of all publications by the U.S. Government Printing Office using agency indexing. Publications by the Executive Branch of government are included here. The U.S. Government Publications database on CARL (#83) represents most of this information from 1976 - present.

CONGRESSIONAL QUARTERLY INDEX

(not shelved separately) This index covers articles printed in the Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report-Indexed in: PAIS; Social Sciences Index; Expanded Academic Index.

CARL SYSTEM

Dayton Memorial Library [CARL database #17) uses a computerized catalog, as do many other Colorado libraries. CARL also has several periodical indexes including: UNCOVER,   MAGAZINE INDEX (General Reference Center), and EXPANDED ACADEMIC INDEX.

CIS CONGRESSIONAL UNIVERSE

A comprehensive Source for U.S. legislative information, such as Congressional publications and the full text of proposed legislation.  Access through RegisNet.

CIS STATISTICAL UNIVERSE

Indexing from the American Statistics Index (ASI), Statistical Reference Index (SRI) and the International Index to Statistics (IIS), and some full-text statistical documents. Includes the full text of the Statistical Abstract of the United States.   Access through RegisNet

GPO ACCESS

Full-text databases from the U.S. federal government, Including the Code of Federal Regulations, Congressional Bills, Congressional Directory, Congressional Record, the Federal Budget, Federal Register, Supreme Court opinions, and the Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents.  Access through RegisNet or the official government site.

AMERICAN STATISTICS INDEX

(1986 - present) This is an index to the various statistical publications of the U.S. government.
