Europe, 1999

During June, 1999 Janie, Lee, Scotty and I travelled through much of north-central Europe.  The beginning of our trip was just trying to get all our bags together.  We spent our first few nights in  Strasbourg, France trying to get over jet-lag and enjoy the sights and sounds of this historic city.

From there we travelled by car to Stuttgarrt, Germany to attend the wedding of Janie's daughter.  The wedding dinner and reception (in a barn located on a farm in German wine country) were among the highligts of the journey.

Next came Munich with beer, bratwurst and "umpha bands" at the Hofbrau House (of course). We then took the boys back to Frankfurt for their journey home.  They made it on their own all the way back to Denver (including going through customs at O'Hare in Chicago!).

Janie and I then drove to Prague in the Czech Republic.  This ancient city has among Europe's most outstanding architecture, music and historic sites.  From there to Vienna, Innsbruck, Dijon and lastly four days in the city of lights:  Paris!  Much too much to relate by way of a detailed description of events.  Below are just two images of our journey.

Here are Scotty, myself and Lee trying not to be nervous as we await our ride to the airport.
